Connect Tenders Agent to Claude and ChatGPT
4 min read · Last reviewed 18 October 2026
The Tenders Agent connector is a read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://tendersagent.com/mcp that lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT search open Indian government tenders and read your organisation's Tenders Agent data after you sign in and approve the connection.
Ask your AI assistant questions such as "CCTV tenders in Maharashtra closing in the next 10 days" or "who won similar road tenders last year, and at what price?" and it answers from Tenders Agent's data, with a link to each tender on tendersagent.com.
Connect from Claude (claude.ai, Desktop and mobile)
- Open Claude and go to Settings → Connectors.
- Find Tenders Agent in the directory and click Connect, or choose Add custom connector and enter https://tendersagent.com/mcp.
- Sign in to Tenders Agent when asked, choose the organisation to share, and click Allow.
- In a chat, ask about tenders. Claude uses the connector when your question needs it.
Connect from ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT on the web, open the app directory and search for Tenders Agent, then click Connect. If it is not listed for your account yet, it can be added as a custom app in developer mode with the URL https://tendersagent.com/mcp and OAuth.
- Sign in to Tenders Agent, choose the organisation, and click Allow.
- Start a chat and ask about tenders.
Connect from Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http tendersagent https://tendersagent.com/mcp, then run /mcp inside Claude Code and sign in when your browser opens. Tools that cannot sign in through a browser can use a personal token from Settings → AI connectors in Tenders Agent instead.
What the assistant can do
- Search open tenders from GeM, CPPP and state e-procurement portals by keyword, state, category, buyer, value and closing date. Closed tenders are excluded.
- Read tender details: buyer, dates, estimated value, EMD, turnover and experience requirements, certifications and items.
- See what's new for the searches you saved in Tenders Agent.
- Read Bid Fit reports your organisation has already run.
- Search past awards: who won, the L1 price and how many bidders took part, where your account includes award history.
What it can't do
- Change anything: it cannot create bids, edit data, submit anything or invite people. Every tool is read-only.
- Use your AI credits: unlocking a tender's AI summary or running a new Bid Fit report is done in the Tenders Agent app.
- See other organisations: a connection reads only the organisation you chose when you approved it.
How your data is handled
- You sign in on tendersagent.com. The assistant never sees your password; it receives a short-lived access token for the organisation you chose.
- Tenders Agent receives only the search terms and tender identifiers the assistant sends for each request. It does not receive your conversation history.
- For each request we record the tool used, your organisation, the number of results and the response time, to apply fair-use limits and keep the service reliable. Search terms are not stored in these records.
- Tender data comes from public procurement portals. Your saved searches and Bid Fit reports are returned only to connections you approved.
- Full details are in our privacy policy at tendersagent.com/privacy.
Disconnect
In Tenders Agent, open Settings → AI connectors → Connected apps and click Disconnect. The assistant loses access on its next request. You can also remove the connector from Claude or ChatGPT's own settings. Leaving an organisation ends every connection to it.

Frequently asked questions
Can every Tenders Agent account connect?
Yes. What the assistant can read follows your organisation's Tenders Agent account — for example, award history is available where the account includes it.
Can the assistant submit bids or change my data?
No. Every tool is read-only. It searches and reads; anything that changes data or uses AI credits is done in the Tenders Agent app.
How do I stop an assistant from accessing my organisation?
Open Settings → AI connectors → Connected apps in Tenders Agent and click Disconnect. Access ends on the assistant's next request.
Which tender portals does it cover?
The Government e-Marketplace (GeM), the Central Public Procurement Portal (CPPP eProcure) and the state e-procurement portals that Tenders Agent indexes. Each result names its source portal.
